Sweet Charity (1969) de Bob Fosse
Dance is an universal language and all I admire is TALENT and FREEDOM to create movements which transcend movement itself and touch other people's minds, hearts and souls.
Dance as a simple repetition of movements someone has taught a dancer seems totally dull and empty to me. Movement machines are not the same thing as DANCERS, in my humble opinion.
DANCE happens when movement and body become BIGGER than themselves and go beyond all barriers...
After Gene Kelly, this is THE MAN of my DANCING HEART: dancer and choreographer Bob Fosse! I could eat him with a spoon for dessert just for his talent, that's how sweet he is to me...and intriguing.;)
THE genius of my election (or one of them...:)

Cairo, the 5th December, 2010
Forget who's right and who's wrong...(who cares, any way?!)
After last wedding's show and consequent third degree spontaneous meeting in backstage room
with egyptian ladies turning their heads over the temptress devil female dancer (me!), I got to wonder why we usually care so much about what others think about us.
Well...I might add in my defense I don't give a ... (yeah, that word you're imagining) for what others think about me but I used to get so nervous and frustrated when I encountered prejudices towards Oriental Dance and dancers and yet now it all seems so insignificant for me.
Those egyptian ladies (check past post about egyptian wedding to know what I am speaking about) saw my dance as "haram", something shameful that they wish they could do to arouse their big tummy, boring husbands.
I see the exact same dance as something DIVINE........................
They see the stage and the cloths I use as a devil's tool to lead Humanity to temptation (of what, I really don't know...;( ) and destruction. I see my dancing space and cloths as divine, again, and a way to communicate with God within me and other human being's hearts and souls.
They see my body as "haram", once more, and not respectable because I expose it in front if strangers in a manner they consider seductive and not proper for a "respectful lady" and I see my body as a TEMPLE of beauty, love and creation.
Who's right? Me or them?
And who cares?
I LIVE while they watch me LIVING...:)
And that's enough.
Comprovising with her accordeonist
I don't really know what's the meaning of the word " comprovizing" (check the weird title of this video) but we might be headed for something new here...(always looking at the bright side of LIFE!) maybe it means a sweet combination of compromise and improvization.
Compromise Plus Improvization = Comprovizing!
There you have it ! (I am starting to get away with bulshit like a typical egyptian...well done, girl! I see I've been learning some real stuff...;)
Away from the bulshit and the weird title...here I am doing my free "awadi" with one of my favourite egyptian instruments: the accordeon (which is not a traditional instrument in arabic music but rather one of the modern additions to it like bass guitar, saxofone, orgue, etc).
Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed dancing it.

James Horner - Braveheart Theme Song
Where are you, my dear "Braveheart"???
Oh, I whisper!
(having those Mel Gibson's blue eyes also help, I may add...)
What I wish for (among other stuff):
A MAN like Mel Gibson in "Braveheart".
A MAN who deserves to be called by that name.
A MAN with the COURAGE of a LION and the HEART of a HUMAN BEING.
A MAN with WORD of HONOUR and a MIND of himself.
A M-A-N.
Character. Soul. Body and fire.
A M-A-N who knows how to be one and, therefore, brings out the best woman in me.
Wishing to find him...asking for it to the stars above.
If you heard of one, just ONE REAL MAN like this, please let me know.
I would just be glad to know him...and honoured.
