"Salvations..."
Through joys, troubles and rain, ART is what keeps me going.
My salvation. My escape. My way to turn the night into a bright sunny day.
I've received so many requests to update my Blogs these last few days...wonderful to feel that so many people follow them and are interested in what it's going on in this side of the world.
My world. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports me and shows me appreciation. Love you all.
My cibernetic absence has been due to many reasons but mainly because I have been working. I mean WORKING really hard. As I often said so many times, what audiences and students see when I perform or teach is just a small point of the iceberg.
There's so much work, research (both internal and external), thinking. idea/concept creation, sleepless nights choreographing for my new dancers or wondering what to do with a certain piece of music or how to be a better/more creative and truthful artist , etc, etc...
I don't mean ALL dancers are kind of obsessive and crazy about their craft like me. I am sure there are a lot who aren't but, somehow, this is the only "crazy" way for me to keep growing.
Visiting friends passing by Cairo...
This has also been keeping quite busy...Some friends dropped by my home in different timings lately.
Doing the all touristic scene thing for them is not my favourite way of spending my reduced free time but they deserve it and I feel happy to receive people I love at my home.
Photographic session...
Another treat. For my work and for myself as I LOVE photography and being photographed (Freud would explain why, if he was alive!). Yeah, I know...I am not spoilt or arrogant but, sometimes, I can be such an irritating Diva...
I needed posters in a hurry and just caught - literally - the first photographer I found near from my home.
His name is Hassan, a very young egyptian photographer who was more than thrilled during and after our shooting. I was in a hurry, as usual, and the session was concluded in an hour.
The result is interesting. Check all of them at my FACEBOOK and some of them in the next post.
Somehow, these photos reflect a stage persona that I feel is my own at the present moment. Hope you all enjoy it.
Promises...
Promise all my supporters and silent followers to keep updating my BLOGS as much as I can with an exception for Christmas time (for the first time in 5 years, I will pass Christmas Eve with my family in Portugal!).
Running back to Cairo on time to present my new show at the "Nile Maxim" on New Year's Eve. Looking forward to spen family quality time and also launch this new show in such an important night. :)
It is not a question of negligence but being so exhausted that I can hardly breath.
I know you all understand it. Merry Christmas to you all!
