Cairo, the 5th March, 2011

Egyptian kindness and redemption.

As an answer to the omnipresent criminality and the Government s decision to leave them at themselves in the streets of Cairo, another amazing response from egyptian civilians that no one could preview.

As I was surprised by this people s courage to lead, with their own hands, a Revolution that will, hopefully, bring DEMOCRACY to this beloved country, I am now again surprised to see how egyptians are defending themselves, their neighbours and even strangers in the streets, pretty much everywhere you go in Cairo.
The gentleness, kind gestures, generosity and delicate way of protecting others as part as their comunity/family were already something I truly admired in egyptian people. Now all those are amplified and incredibly present as a response to the absence of security for civils.
You never stop surprising yourself towards human nature and the incredible awful things it is capable of as well as the even more INCREDIBLE KINDNESS it is also capable of.
Egyptians leave me open mouthed for the best reasons, once more.
What leaves me me with the clear idea that you should never, indeed, judge a book by its cover!
Egyptian s redemption, rebirth, RENEWAL and HOPE are just overwhelming to testify and be a part of.
