Memory lane (where it all started: Joana Saahirah on television)

It is with great honour and sense of humour  that I share some links of my first television interviews (before I moved to Egypt, back in Portugal where I started to teach, perform and promote Egyptian dances right at the beginning of this Journey). It makes sense to share this memory lane with you all, specially on this  "chapter closing" phase.

My dance was hilariously poor (let s be realistic and not beat around the bush, shall we?!) but the conviction, the passion, respect and fire I already had towards Oriental Dance are remarkable and endearing, even for me.

While watching these interviews (that I did not have access to for some years) I cannot stop myself from admiring my guts, energy, enthusiasm and professional approach carried from the very beginning.

It is obvious - while watching these interviews - that I was not joking when I promised to rise Oriental Dance back to the place where it belongs.

THAT girl was not joking, I tell you that...the results of that fiery start are here to be seen, to stay and grow - thanks God.

Even if you do not understand Portuguese (no time to add subtitles to all these videos) you can still "feel" the love in my eyes when I spoke about Egyptian Dance, Music and Culture.

Some years later and loads of water already passed under my bridge I can honestly say that love has grown as much as my career and name. First in Portugal. Then in Egypt and NOW in the whole world.

Thankful and blessed for the Ride - knowing the best is yet to come.
