Portraits by the Master Mahmoud Reda

Portraits taken by the
 Master Mahmoud Reda.
"Mwashahat" style of cloth.
Published over here with much, MUCH tenderness.

"I discovered that DANCE is not an empty repetition of movements and combinations others have taught us. You learn from your Masters and from them you catch the ABC but then, if you´re an ARTIST, you have to learn how to fly with your own wings and that is always a SEARCH, never a matter of fact of the past. Using what you learnt, what was already done to dive into depths no one has ever dared to go before. That´s the COURAGE of the Dancer.

A true Master will show you how to use your wings and even guide you with some maps he/she already traveled through but he/she will also, and most of all, wake you up for that truth: YOU CAN FLY by yourself. He/she will not encourage you to mimic his own path in order to serve his/her own ego. He will set you free from all he/she taught you as the precious basis he/she discovered for himself/herself during his/her own flights. He/she´ll encourage you to leave the nest, to follow your own heart and even make what we call mistakes and - allas - know that you can rise after every fall.

That´s when the Dancer is born...A child, a bird, a savage in search of his/her own HUMANITY. And the search goes on and on and on...keeping us humble, keeping our hands held up to the skies and our feet firmly planted on the ground.
Discovery is Dance´s middle name so have a challenging TRIP and know, for all that is worth, that the JOY is not in finding but in the search itself."
